Christmas

So Christmas this year was the best Christmas I have ever had. Christmas Eve Dave and I spent the night with his family. We played Bingo and had dinner and then spent the night at Dave's mom and dad's. It was so fun! His whole family was there and it was a blast! I'm so excited that I get to be a part of this wonderful family. We exchanged names this year for Christmas and Christmas Eve we exchanged gifts. After that Lou (Dave's Dad) put on the Christmas story put out by our church. After that we sat around and talked and just had a great time being with one another.

Christmas morning was so fun! I forgot how magical children make Christmas! Lilly and Link woke up around 9 and the rest of us got up with them. Lou and Paula had all of us open gifts and we just sat around and spent time with each other. It was so much fun to be with Dave's family. I love them all so much!

After Christmas at the Strasburg's Dave and I headed to the Roberts household. We got to my house just in time for Aebleskivers. You probably have no idea what they are so I'll tell you. They are a swedish pancake that we have every Christmas morning from 10-12pm. We have all the neighbors and family come over and eat some.

This was Dave's first time ever trying them and it was so great because he absolutely loved them! I always love it when people try them for the first time because they always fall in love instantly. They are truly delicious and they really make the Roberts home a real Christmas!

After breakfast we opened presents and then Dave and I just hung around and vegged. It was so great to just be with Dave and spend our first Christmas together. He gave me the greatest present ever! He had a wooden sign made for me that says "Strasburg Est. 2009" it is the coolest thing ever! It was my most favorite gift this year. It touched me so much. I think he's probably as excited as I am to get married! It was so cute to see how excited he was by how much I loved it! It made my Christmas! I'll have to take a picture and put it on here.

This Christmas really was the best! Not only did I get to be with my family and my best friend, I got to spend time with my future family and my soon-to-be husband. Pretty dang cool if you ask me!

I'm getting MARRIED!!

So out of the top 10 best days of my life this is definitely number 2! (Number 1 has yet to come...but it will be here April 3!) Tonight Dave asked me to marry him. It was the coolest thing ever!! I don't think I have smiled like that or been this happy in years! It was the greatest moment ever! Right when he asked me i felt instant peace and knew that this was the man I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. Dave is my best friend and now I get him for eternity!! So let's start from the beginning.....

I got home (to Dave's) tonight and was so excited to see him! He looked so hot, but he always does, ok that's beside the point. :) So we were standing in the kitchen and I was cooking and he was like I should just ask you to marry me. I said, you totally should! I didn't think he was serious because this is a nightly conversation between the 2 of us.

He told me to call my dad because he needed to talk to him. So I called my Dad, chatted with him for a minute and then handed the phone to Dave. He said "Kirk, I am just about to ask your daughter to marry me so I wanted to ask your permission." Of course my Dad said yes.

Dave then came and stood in front of me and told me all the reasons that he loves me, and that I'm his best friend and he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. He then pulled out my ring and asked me to marry him!! It was so awesome! I screamed when I looked down and saw the ring. I was shaking so bad. I kissed him and said yes and he put my ring on. Greatest moment of my life thus far! I knew at that instant that I has just made the best decision of my life. It was pretty dang cool!

It's the neatest thing when you get to look into the eyes of the person you get to spend your life with. The person you want to spend your life with. I can't describe how I felt in that moment. In that moment everything changed. It became real. He really is mine!! I'm the luckiest girl in the world! I can't believe that I get to be with the most amazing man I have ever known!

So anyway.....you want to know the big day?! April 3, 2009 in the Draper Utah Temple. Pretty cool huh! Not only do I get to marry him forever, I get to get married in a fairytale castle like a princess! Nice! Oh, and the best part....I get to have the best last name ever!!! Jill Strasburg!

I love you Davey boy! Thanks for being my best friend, the man of my dreams (literally), and the greatest guy I have ever known. You mean more to me than anything in this world and I'm so excited that you're the person I get to spend the rest of my life with. I couldn't ask for any better! I love you!

Rachel's Birthday at the Strasburg House

This is Rachel Dave's sister and if I'm lucky my future sister in law. :) It was her Birthday on December 2nd and we went to Dave's mom and Dad's to celebrate. It was so much fun! Rachel is the sweetest thing ever! She is always so appreciative of everything and everyone. She is truly a wonderful person and I love her tons! It was fun to be able to be with the whole Strasburg family and get to celebrate her birthday with her! We love ya Rach!

So this is one of the cutest girls ever and I love her to death! This is Kimmie (Dave's niece). I have so much fun with her. Every time I see her she is always asking me to play house or board games. She has no idea how much her unconditional love for everyone means to especially me. She has loved me since she met me. She makes me miss my sweet niece's all the time. Plus, with a face like this how can you just not love the girlie?

I called her Miss Kimmie the other day and she said, "Jill my name is not miss, it's Kimmie." It made me laugh. She always has a smile and a hug for me when she sees me and it means the world to me. I feel so blessed to get to have this sweet little girl in my life.

So Dave and I were having a moment called "we thought we were ugly" this whole night. It was hilarious. His little sister Nicole kept taking our picture and we hated them. We are both a little self conscious when we're not tan, so needless to say after this picture was taken we went tanning. LOL....anyway in this picture she had just taken a picture before and I was so annoyed with how I looked. Dave and I started laughing because we were so ugly and Nicole grabbed this picture, which we both liked a lot, so I thought I had to put it on here.

I love this boy so much he has no idea. I'm so grateful for all the times he makes me laugh and smile and feel so loved. I couldn't ask for anything more. It's a great feeling to know you found your other half and they just happen to be your best friend on top of it. He always makes me feel so beautiful and makes a point to make me feel special on a daily basis. He's so much more than I deserve and I thank God every day that he sent him to me. I sure did get lucky. I love you Davey Boy!!
